Leon Goretzka has agreed a new contract with Bayern Munich until 2026.

The 26-year-old midfielder has long been rumored to be negotiating a new contract with Bayern and, most recently, on Monday. The Kicker revealed that the steps Going well and the player has agreed a new contract that will last until 2026. 

For Goretzka’s current contract is about to expire in the middle of next year. And in the past it was reported that Real Madrid and Manchester United have watched the situation and are ready to compete for free.

Still, according to recent reports from German media outlets. Goretzka is likely to continue playing at the Allianz Arena until at least 2026. 

The 26-year-old joined the Tigers from Schalke in 2018. Although at first he had a rough performance. But since then the player has become the core of the club and has continued to perform well.

Goretzka was seemingly keen to stay in Munich from the get-go. So it caught many Bayern fans by surprise when the talks did not proceed as smoothly as anticipated. It was rumoured that Goretzka wanted a lucrative wage deal. As has been the case with negotiations between the club and other players recently. Now, thankfully, things have reportedly been cleared up, and it seems like only a matter of time before Goretzka’s extension is announced.
