The Belgian striker reportedly initially turned down Chelsea’s £165,000-a-week offer to stay. Until his contract with Inter expires in 2024.
Still, the 28-year-old changed his mind by requesting a transfer to west London in August. Which was a huge disappointment for Milito.
Although the former Argentina striker, who scored 62 goals in 128 appearances for Inter, will have no problem with Lukaku’s decision to leave. But he was unhappy with the Belgian spearhead’s failure to keep his word.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Milito said: “There is one thing you shouldn’t do. is to make a promise that you can’t keep.”
“A player like him is very dedicated. That allowed him to decide where to go. But the fans are disappointed because of those comments.”
